When it comes to constructing high quality, architecturally-designed homes, Apteryx is a building company that is skilled in all aspects of the building process, particularly the demands and challenges of cutting edge design.
Apteryx has been building homes designed by some of Wellington’s leading architects for more than 17 years: “We aim to deliver a building experience that is inspirational, enriching, satisfying, exciting and rewarding,” says Brent Neumayr, the company owner and contract manager who has more than 25 years construction experience in both new builds and renovations.
The company’s attention to detail and craftsmanship is backed up by its multiple award-winning style at the 2015 regional awards. Apteryx Building & Construction took out eight awards with their new-build entry, including a Gold Award and category win for the Westpac New Home over $2 million, as well as the Wellington Wairarapa Registered Master Builders Supreme Award for the 2015 House of the Year. The company also won the Craftsmanship Award, Plumbing World Bathroom Excellence Award, Outdoor Living Award and Interior Style and Finish Award. And subsequently also received a Gold Reserve award, placing them in the top 100 properties in the country. The workmanship on this project successfully integrated insitu concrete walls, structural steel framing, timber framing and cedar cladding.
The judges described Apteryx’s winning entry as a stunning home built with outstanding attention to detail. “The builder has risen to the challenge of building in a marine climate with daunting wind exposure. This house is a well-crafted and top quality masterpiece that the builder should be proud of.”
