Ainsworth & Collinson's Story 2020

This year we are celebrating 30 Years of House of the Year! Over the next few months we are going to be shining a light on some of the people who have played a massive part in the competition. Keep an eye out on our channels as our members share some of their best memories as a builder.

“I went into building straight from school. Originally it was my desire to do physical work in the outdoors that got me into the industry, but I soon realised there were plenty of other opportunities off the tools. The best thing about the job is the variety – you are never working with the same people at the same place all the time.

21 years ago, I formed a partnership with a co-worker and from there we have steadily grown to have 14 employees. We have trained nine apprentices over the years. Not only do I think it’s important to train our future tradesmen, it also gives us a diverse group of tradies of different ages and skill levels onsite.

We have been entering House of the Year for the last 15 years. The awards are something we as a company, and our employees, aspire to win.” - Ken Ainsworth, Ainsworth & Collinson Ltd
