Calley Homes Story 2020

This year we are celebrating 30 Years of House of the Year! Over the next few months we are going to be shining a light on some of the people who have played a massive part in the competition. Keep an eye out on our channels as our members share some of their best memories as a builder.

“Knowing that our work will be enjoyed by future generations is something quite unique about the building trades. With every project we complete, we are leaving behind another piece of our legacy.

When asked why and how I got into building, credit would have to go to my high school woodwork classes – this is where my fascination began! After finishing up in high school my career really kickstarted. I was lucky enough to be taken under someone’s wing as an apprentice. I took it with both hands. I think this is why I am so passionate about training people in our industry and seeing my own apprentices succeed in their building careers.

The recognition from House of the Year awards has given our business the credibility we couldn’t achieve by self-promotion. Being judged by independent industry experts gives the community confidence that our brand represents excellence. One project that will always be special to our business was our first ever House of the Year entry in 2015 which won a Gold and Lifestyle Award.

Don’t think twice about entering. Get buy in from your team of builders and sub-trades. It always takes a collective effort to produce the best results.” – Johnny Calley, Calley Homes
