Conrad Kuriger's Story 2020

This year we are celebrating 30 Years of House of the Year! Over the next few months we are going to be shining a light on some of the people who have played a massive part in the competition. Keep an eye out on our channels as our members share some of their best memories as a builder.

Conrad Kuriger

“The variety of work, working outdoors, the challenge of a project and the pride in client satisfaction are all what I love about being a builder.

Builders are always needed, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills with apprentices. I started my business on day one with an apprentice and have continued to train two or three at any one time. At Kuriger Builders, we like to take on a new apprentice each year, which also then elevates the others in the company.

We entered the very first Master Builders House of the Year in 1991 and have entered almost every year since. Achieving more than 70 combined awards in the past 29 years including seven Gold Reserves and two National titles. Being reviewed by our peers is a valuable endorsement and the competition sets benchmarks to aspire to and achieve.

What would I say to builders considering entering House of the Year? Take up the challenge, have pride in your project and learn from the feedback you get. Enter, enter, enter!” – Conrad Kuriger, Kuriger Builders
