Richard Davidson Builders Story 2020

This year we are celebrating 30 Years of House of the Year! Over the next few months we are going to be shining a light on some of the people who have played a massive part in the competition. Keep an eye out on our channels as our members share some of their best memories as a builder.

“I get a lot of satisfaction out of building. Standing back and looking at what you have achieved every single day. My grandfather was a carpenter, so I was inspired by him and decided to follow in his footsteps. I went for my first job interview and got offered the job straight away.

What I like about the job is meeting and working with such a diverse mix of tradies at every job. Our company was incorporated in 1999 and we have just passed 20 years in business. I feel very proud to have achieved this milestone.

When we won the National Supreme Award in 2016, we had friends and family from all over the country ring and congratulate us when they saw the news and TV interview. The win was the pinnacle of our career so far and a great success story for the designers and owners alike.

My advice to people entering – Enter with no expectation and if your end result is what ours was, it will be all that more exhilarating. “– Richard Davidson, Richard Davidson Builders
