So much more than a contemporary holiday retreat, this Lakes District beauty has been designed to serve its active owners as a permanent home in the future.
Beautiful cladding materials have been chosen for impact and endurance. Sweeping cedar is bookended by black aluminium. An incredible 7m-wide window opens to provide captivating views to Lake Wakatipu from the home’s open-plan heart. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms promise plenty of room for guests.
Wood, concrete and granite are expressed in both rough and smooth forms inside – a nod to nature’s many attitudes. Rough-sawn Douglas fi r graces the walls and ceilings. Smooth oak and laminated birch lywood have been used for the joinery units.
The modern kitchen island features a massive single slab of polished granite, with a timber base. Rough granite is used to trim windows and doors, which also feature custom steel door handles and pelmets. Polished concrete is used as flooring throughout.
These rich materials standout, with white walls a fresh backdrop for the owners’ colourful life.
