An early 2000s build has been significantly strengthened, extended and transformed into a thoroughly modern home. As a result, the sprawling four-bedroom property in a semi-rural setting is ready to stand the test of time.

The renovation was significant, taking place in several stages and involving a substantial team. A high level of craftsmanship was required. Stage one of the project involved building a brand new gym from scratch, and ensuring that the new 95sqm addition fitted in seamlessly with the style of the existing home. The garage roofing tiles and exterior cladding were replaced, for a modern finish that could also withstand Auckland’s many weather conditions.

Stage two also involved major work, beginning with the complete removal and replacement of the rest of the roofing as well as all of the decking. In addition, further walls were re-clad. The house, in Auckland’s south-west fringe, has three bathrooms, two living rooms, stylish open-plan living spaces and indoor-outdoor flow aplenty.
