Immaculately designed to maximise space and using clever construction systems, this eco-friendly home is one smart build. I C Builders developed the LVL portal structure that lends itself perfectly to the Technical Category 3 land. The portal brackets can be unbolted and the house re-levelled in the event of a natural disaster. Timber has been used for every component of the home, which makes for a warm and welcoming environment. The cladding is charred larch and will retain its deep-black charcoal appearance.

All materials and products have been selected to ensure clean air and minimal environmental impact. Wrapped in a 140mm-thick double blanket wall system, the home is warm and easy to heat. Thanks to the natural moisture management of timber and wool insulation, the interior is not only warm but dry. Custom kitchen and bathroom joinery were made on site using Strandboard and Blum hardware. The 5mm oiled steel bench tops are durable, aesthetically pleasing and cost effective.
