Five pavilions built around a sheltered entrance and forecourt are key elements of this luxurious elevated 890sqm home. The exquisite living areas and open-plan kitchen look out to the lake. The latter is designed to draw in the view, while also meeting the brief of simple and pared back. Sleek double islands and handle-free cabinetry are key to its streamlined look, while stone, steel and black-stained oak have been selected to align with the main architectural elements of the living wing.
The remaining pavilions – a family wing, garage with a loft providing additional guest accommodation and a main bedroom wing with ensuite – are further back on the site. The ensuite has natural stone, oak and European gunmetal tapware, which create an opulent, yet understated oasis. The brass lighting, brass-framed mirrors, freestanding furniture and double vanities with marble basins were all custom made in New Zealand. The exterior includes lightly bagged local schist, blackened mild steel rainscreen, stained cedar garage doors, ACM fascias and glass facades.
