The Top 100 homes in the country achieve Gold Reserve status each year, and proceed to the National Finals.
These are given to entrants who achieve 90% of the available points and judged to be at least 80% above industry standard.
Perched on an elevated site overlooking the scenic hills and valleys of Central Hawke’s Bay, this four-bedroom home is all about location, views and relaxed family living. Constructed from quality, low-maintenance materials with schist pillars and exposed aggregate concrete footpaths, the 210sqm home fits like a glove within the landscape. The positioning was carefully considered to make the most of its idyllic location, with service areas to the south and living to the north. Practical, easy-care polished concrete flooring in the open-plan dining space and kitchen traps warmth from sunlight flooding in through the glazing. With the addition of ducted heating and cooling systems, the home stays comfortably temperate all year round. A separate media room can be closed off with cavity sliders to create a quiet, private space for getting stuck into a good movie or book. The carpeted and fully insulated garage has been set up with a pool table and table tennis for family games nights. In summer, the hot Hawke’s Bay days provide a welcome excuse to spend the afternoon in the swimming pool.
