So began the metamorphosis, from dilapidated to drop-dead gorgeous. The once-sad villa has undergone a “head-to-toe” renovation and also includes an extension – the results are nothing short of remarkable. The now high-end, three-level 336sqm home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a swimming pool and bags of style. In order to create the new basement garage, laundry and storage space, the team took away 55 truckloads of earth and put the house on cribs. The middle floor is home to three reconfigured bedrooms, plus the extension out back with dove-grey kitchen and living-dining space flowing to an outdoor area and the pool. In the new upper level – you’ll find a private retreat with the main bedroom, ensuite and walk-in wardrobe. New life has been breathed into every room and space, and the additions have been handled seamlessly and sympathetically. It’s almost impossible to imagine where the old stops and new begins, such is the craftsmanship on this project. It’s perfect.
