The success of a large-scale renovation can be measured by its seamlessness – changes meld perfectly with the existing building and no one can tell that alterations have been made. Such is the case with this bold 327sqm beach beauty that was stripped back to its bones. Before remodelling could occur, remedial work had to be carried out. Challenges included the first floor, which was about 30mm off level. This needed to be remedied so that substantial plans, including reconfiguration and recladding, could be achieved. As a result of careful and thoughtful craftsmanship, the clients have a home that feels brand new and one they’ve fallen in love with. A lift ensures this three-bedroom house can remain their home well into the future. Inside, streamlined neutral interiors are punctuated with stylish additions such as a timber fireplace surround, herringbone tiles in one of the bathrooms, marble lining the stairwell and adorning the kitchen, and stunning outdoor rooms – one at each end of the house. These are ideal for entertaining and relaxing, no matter the weather or wind direction. Two bathrooms, plus a powder room, mean there are plenty of facilities for family and visitors.
