Some construction companies relish rising to a challenge and so it was with the building team behind this project. The team worked assiduously to make the most of a tight section and open this holiday home to mountain views. The result is a 245sqm four-bedroom property clad in crisp white plaster and steel trimmed with bagged schist and aluminium. Architecturally designed, it’s classic, timeless and fits into the neighbourhood. Indoor-outdoor flow is a term that’s often thrown about, but in this house, it’s there for all to see. An entire end of the home extends to create an outdoor room off the lounge. Step out through sliders and you’ll find the kitchen kitted out with lots of space for dining or relaxing. The main kitchen and its reflective monochrome surfaces are brought to life by the addition of zesty tangerine splashbacks. There are four bedrooms, including a main-bedroom suite and a bunkroom accessed through the double garage – perfect for young visitors keen to enjoy what’s on offer in the Mackenzie Country. A separate laundry has its own entrance and adjoins the garage – so skiing, tramping and other gear can be shed before heading inside.
