Now here’s a renovation with true star power. This contemporary Hawke’s Bay home received a moviestar-worthy upgrade with a new cabana area that capitalises on the hillside setting and Pacific Ocean views. An expansive multi-level outdoor area required significant earthworks to accommodate an infinity pool, spa, courtyard and conversation pit with a dazzling glass-encased fire. There’s also a second alfresco seating area in front of an Escea fireplace. The 70sqm cedar and aluminium-clad pool pavilion offers more luxury and examples of exemplary craftsmanship. Inside, the tongue-and-groove cedar walls in the living areas along with a negative-detailed ceiling and hidden bathroom wall showcase the skills of the building and design teams. Infrared heaters are recessed into the ceiling and LED lights makes the timber shine. In the kitchen, the refrigerator and wine chiller are tucked away behind more of that beautiful cedar. There’s all the mod cons, including an indoor barbecue. The adjoining living room comes equipped with a recessed television and a statement gas fire for chilly nights. Steel pivoted, double-glazed glass doors grant unfettered access to the pool and those incredible views.
