Undergoing a dramatic transformation by SpiceBuild, a once dark and cramped 1920s villa has emerged as a bright and stylish home where natural and neutral tones take centre stage. These are elegantly contrasted with moody dark accents and brass highlights seen in designer lighting, tapware, and handles. The three-bedroom house is now unrecognisable both inside and out—it’s a dream come true for the owners.
This transformation was far from a quick fix. To turn the house into an entertainer’s paradise, a radical overhaul was necessary. The project involved stripping the interior before any reconfiguring and modernisation could begin. Four new steel beams were installed to support the structure after removing load-bearing walls and creating new spaces. Extensions added a south-facing entry and an east-facing informal living area with access to the main bedroom suite. The existing garage was converted into a studio with an ensuite and laundry, and a new double garage was constructed at the front. The kitchen and dining area, a harmonious blend of timber, marble, and brass, is fl ooded with natural light from a large skylight. Timber floors unify the space with the living room, even though they are separated by vertical timber feature walls and a double-sided fireplace. Carefully chosen tiles in the bathrooms continue the natural theme.
