Situated among orchards, this distinctive Spanishstyle home has undergone a remarkable renovation — one that stays true to its original charm while completely transforming interior function and flow. With its terracotta roof tiles, covered patios and solid plastered exterior, the house has always had presence. But inside, the layout was awkward, with dark corners, odd angles and spaces that didn’t quite work. The renovation focussed on untangling those issues, without disturbing the architectural soul of the home or its footprint. The interior now feels significantly more spacious. Walls were removed to create a central open-plan living area, improving flow between the kitchen, dining and lounge spaces. The result is a light, welcoming interior that better connects with the outdoor landscape.

Subtle level changes were introduced to improve circulation and modernise the feel, while reworked ceiling lines help define zones. Bedrooms now have large windows, if not doors, out to tiled patios and timber decking on three sides of the house. Bathrooms are luxurious in every way — from size to fittings to doors that can be flung open to the garden. Modern finishes and materials throughout harmonise with the home’s original Spanish character. This renovation doesn’t shout for attention — it cleverly celebrates what made it special to begin with.
