This eight-unit development proves sustainability, functionality and dignity can go hand in hand. The goal was simple but important: to create homes that are safe, warm and healthy — and do it with minimal impact on the environment. The layout includes a mix of one- and two-bedroom homes, each with its own living area and bathroom. The units are designed for compact, comfortable living, supporting a sense of privacy, while maintaining connection to shared spaces and community. With three car parks and six bike stands, the development encourages residents to make sustainable transport choices as part of an active lifestyle.
Sustainability shaped every stage of this build. Of the 15.9 tonnes of construction waste generated, 80 per cent was diverted from landfill including 3.7 tonnes of timber fencing repurposed for local projects, and soft plastics, polystyrene and plasterboard redirected into specialist recycling streams. Even the company’s branded banners were reused: cleaned, repurposed as sturdy fabric bags, and donated to tenants in other community housing developments. Materials and systems were chosen to meet high performance standards, and the team is on track to earn EIC Certification for waste management practices. This is responsible building with a deep respect for the people who will live there.
