The owners’ brief to CA Architecture called for a strong street presence alongside a flexible layout to support their current lifestyle and long-term independent living, creating a home that adapts through every stage of life. Externally, a simple low-pitched gable form is clad in horizontal, rusticated cedar weatherboards, with a rendered masonry base. Long-run metal roofing finishes the home, which is grounded by terraced planting and stone boundary walls to provide privacy.

Inside, full-height glazing frames expansive views to Auckland CBD and the Waitematā Harbour. Skylights bring northern light into circulation spaces, enhancing amenity and indoor-outdoor connection. A covered deck runs along the front of the home, deepening down the northern side to create alfresco dining off the kitchen. This upstairs extension provides shelter to a patio and the entry deck below. Two bedrooms and a bathroom share this ground level with a double garage and laundry.
