Following a devastating fire that destroyed most of the original farmhouse, this 349sqm home has been completely reimagined as a refined rural retreat defined by symmetry, scale and connection to the landscape. Rather than simply rebuilding what was lost, the project evolved into a significant redesign that expanded well beyond the original footprint. Arranged across a series of linked pavilions, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom residence balances grandeur with warmth. The pavilion-style layout wraps around a resort-like courtyard anchored by a long pool, allowing nearly every room to connect to the outdoors. The composition is striking, with dark cladding and expansive rooflines set against rolling hills and mature planting that softens the scale of the architecture.

Inside, soaring ceilings, exposed trusses and generous glazing give the main living areas a dramatic sense of volume. Full-height sliders open entire walls to outdoor entertaining spaces. The material palette is restrained yet richly layered, combining dark timber cabinetry, oak and tiled flooring, stone surfaces and brushed metal finishes, with sculptural lighting a stand-out feature. The kitchen makes a strong impression, pairing veined stone with moody cabinetry beneath vaulted ceilings. Softer moments, including built-in window seating and quieter circulation spaces, bring intimacy to the substantial footprint and ensure the home feels welcoming as well as impressive.
