As first homes go, this is a dreamy one. The three-bedroom house covers all the must-have bases, but also includes luxuries you’d find in a much larger, more expensive property. You’ll see a 47sqm north-facing kwila deck, media room, ducted heating, main-bedroom walk-in wardrobe and ensuite… you get the picture. This project was always about crafting a quality home ideal for families and downsizers, but the builders wanted to make it feel bigger and brighter, without increasing the 174sqm footprint.

Over-height doors, scissor-truss ceilings in the living area and a 4.6-metre cathedral ceiling in the media room did the trick. In the open-plan communal zone, admire the streamlined kitchen with an island and breakfast bar. What looks like another piece of tall, sleek cabinetry is, in fact, a door to a walk-in pantry. The line between the dining-living zone and the deck that stretches almost the length of the house is beautifully blurred when wide sliders are open.
